IPOB Leader Namdi Kanu Threatens To Expose President Buhari’s ‘Deep Secret’

Edit Posted by with No comments
The Indigenous People of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has posed threats to reveal a deep secret about President Muhammadu Buhari.
IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, stated this in a press statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
He alleged that the Federal Government was working towards closing Radio Biafra so as to stop the IPOB leader’s revelation.
He said:-
“It has been brought to the attention of the worldwide family of the Indigenous People of Biafra that plans by the government of Nigeria are at advanced stages to shut the internet.
“Following the sensational revelations by our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on Radio Biafra and other media platforms about the true identity of the current occupier of Aso Rock, the APC government has gone into overdrive to conceal the truth from the masses by proposing to shut down social media in the coming weeks.
“This attempt to curb free speech and limit the flow of information to the millions of people that rely on the internet for uncensored truth, will not work.”
The group vowed to reveal the secret before long, stating that no amount of force and intimidation would stop it from realizing its objective.
“Our mission to expose the impostor in Aso Rock will continue unabated. Any attempt to deflect our attention or that of the public is bound to fail because the truth has been established.
“The only option left for the rulers of Nigeria is to cancel the presidential elections and convene a government of national unity to oversee a referendum.
“Anything short of this will lead to an implosion of social and political order because eventually, the world will isolate Nigeria as a result of this impersonation,” the statement added.

About 100 Buhari Campaign Buses Spotted In Lagos (See PHOTOS)

Edit Posted by with No comments
Undoubtedly, the political battle, in days leading to the 2019 general elections, is going to be ferociously contested.
The political players are currently leaving no stone unturned in order to secure victory at the polls.
They are all mobilizing the necessary arsenals to ensure their ultimate success in the political battle.
The incumbent President, President Mohammedu Buhari, his campaign team and ardent supporters are not left out of the campaign frenzy.
The President and his campaign team are determined that the status quo is maintained. To achieve this, they are preparing an elaborate campaign process  to ensure that.
For instance, very early this morning, a very lengthy convoy of 2009 Hyundai H1 were sighted on the Lagos end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
These vehicles were all uniformly branded with the campaign messages to promote the re-election aspiration of President Buhari.
Indeed, the length of the convoy was sufficient to break some records. At a point, the convoy impeded the free flow of traffic along the Magodo-Berger axis.
No doubt, our politicians are not smiling.
A Tokunbo 2009 Hyundai H1 costs about N 7million. The cost of a Nigerian-used one averages about N2.5m to N 3m.

Flavour, Yemi Alade’s ‘Crazy Love’ versus Wizkid, Tiwa Savage’s ‘Fever

Edit Posted by with No comments

By Ayo Onikoyi
The landscape of the Nigerian music space is fast changing as musicians are desperately looking for that special recipe to cook that ‘stew’ that would appeal to a larger audience, a kind of stew Wizkid and Tiwa Savage cooked that got the ‘Fever’ video having over one million views in 24 hours of its release.

Yemi and Flavour
It was indeed a fever that got music lovers shivering. But the success of that video wasn’t about any stew, it was about ‘chemistry’, which Tiwa Savage and Wizkid had carefully laid the foundation before the big bang. Can highlife star, Flavour Nabania and Mama Africa, Yemi Alade build up something as special as that?
Long before the ‘Fever’ video dropped on October 23, 2018, which has since garnered over 6 million views on YouTube, Tiwa and Wizzy, were already an item. They were trouble just waiting to happen as they have flirted with our minds both on stage and on social media.
Not minding what Tiwa Savage’s husband, Tillbillz, said about Wizkid being his brother and all, their fans were just rooting to see something romantically untoward happened between the duo. And when the ‘romance’ blew on the ‘Fever’ video, everyone wanted to see it as soon as possible, hence one million views in one day.
Flavour and Yemi Alade may look so good in the visual released for ‘Crazy Love’, but they have absolutely no history to match that of Wizkid and Tiwa Savage. No doubts the visual has sparked some dating rumours between the two singers, there isn’t enough fire in it to spark any form of spontaneous reaction in music lovers to want to see the video as soon as it drops.
Wizkid and Tiwa broke a Nigerian record of 1 million views in 24 hours and has since gone to have over 6 million, but everyone in the know knew they played up their perceived romance to catch up with Davido, who was having a field day with his fiancee, Chioma Rowland. Their ‘Assurance’ video is still the best of the lot, having raked up 27 million since it was released in May of this year. ‘Fever’ is still a long way off ‘Assurance’ but there are indications that the race may be close in the long run.
Flavour is an accomplished singer, whose fame cannot be questioned. But since the duopoly of Wizkid and Davido took hold of the music scene, the ‘Ada Ada’ crooner has become something of a fringe player.
He needed a hype or recipe of his own to cook up something special and Yemi Alade is just the obvious choice. When he teamed up with Chidinma Ekile in ‘Ololufe’ he scored big. His video with the ‘Kedike’ crooner has mopped up over 30 million views on YouTube since its release in 2015.
Unquestionably, Yemi Alade is a shoulder above Chidinma as her ‘Johnny’ video is still the most viewed Nigerian video on YouTube, standing at over 96 million views since its release in 2014. When one realises the import of Yemi Alade’s popularity, as the best challenger to Tiwa Savage, Flavour may just be going for the kill – just.

“You have stuck with me through the roller coasters. Thank you. To my amazing team, this is just the beginning. African women, this is for us.
“I have been through a lot but I have kept my head up and weathered the storm because I know some little girl somewhere is dreaming like I did,” Tiwa said.
She signed a recording contract with Mavin Records in 2012 and currently has a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
The mother of one also signed a management and publishing deal with Roc Nation in June 2016.

The singer, who rose to fame as a member of the girl group “Fifth Harmony,” formed on the U.S. edition of the X-Factor, said she relished being seen as a role model.
“I feel like the message for me has always been just like do what makes you happy, even if it’s scary, it’s worth it to take the risk because your happiness is your responsibility,” Cabello said.
“That’s always been my message and I talk about it a lot but I feel like it’s a good message. And yes, very important, go vote!” she said.
Jackson, who received a “Global Icon” award, sang hits of her 40-year career over four stages and surrounded by African drummers, flame torches, firebreathers and more than 20 dancers.
The show took place at Bilbao’s exhibition centre and was hosted by Hailee Steinfeld, who performed “Back to Life,” a song that will feature on the soundtrack of her forthcoming movie Bumblebee.
One of the hits of the night was Spanish Flamenco-inspired artist Rosalia singing “Malamente” after rolling on stage in a gigantic truck.
Five-time winners of MTV Europe Music Awards, English rock band Muse also made a splash by performing “Pressure” from Bilbao’s world-famous soccer stadium San Mames.
Other notable performances included Bebe Rexha singing “I’m a Mess” while in a bathtub surrounded by nurses and 100 dancers and Halsey performing “Without Me” surrounded by rainfall.
The show was opened by Nicki Minaj with her new hit “Good Form,” followed by her collaboration with Little Mix “Woman Like Me.” Minaj also received the awards for “Best Look” and “Best Hip-Hop.”
American D.J. Marshmello, who won “Best Electronic,” closed out the night alongside Anne-Marie with their hit “FRIENDS” and alongside Bastille with “Happier.” The performance was also among the public as hundreds of Marshmello inflated balls flooded the venue for the finale.

Hijab Controversy: UI School Board Retains Dress Code

Edit Posted by with No comments
The Board of Governors of the International School, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, has decided that the dress code of the school will be maintained.
The board, which came out with this after a meeting presided over by Prof. Adeyinka Aderinto, on Wednesday, stated that the management had the right to enforce the dress code that was contained in the rules and regulations of the school.
The board urged parents to abide by the rules of the school to enable the institution to fulfil its mandate of providing sound education for the pupils.
The old student’s association of the school also said that the controversy over the wearing of hijab should be viewed through the lens of principles and laws governing the institution and not through the lens of religion.
A mail sent to Aderinto by the President of the University of Ibadan International School Old Students Association, Tive Ekpere, stated that the uniform policy was introduced to address socioeconomic inequalities, discourage segregation and minimise distractions to academic activities.
Ekpere noted that the uniform was unique and was the fabric that had bound the ISI culture and tradition till date, adding that the existing policy on the school uniform should be reviewed and interpreted accordingly.
According to him, agitators for hijab must note that the ISI is a private school being governed by its own policies, laws and regulations.
He stated, “The International School Ibadan is a secular international school established to admit and provide the best possible education for boys and girls from all over the world, irrespective of their ethnicity, creed, race or religion. It is a centre where children are brought to learn from one another with the aim of finding their common humanity.
“The uniform policy was introduced to disabuse socio-economic inequalities, discourage segregation and minimise distractions to academic activities. The uniform is unique and is the fabric that has bound cultures and traditions till date. Beyond this, the association wishes to advise that all overt religious activities on the school campus should be discouraged henceforth.
Ekpere added, “While we believe that every student should be free to practise whatever religion they wish, we are also persuaded that the exercise of such rights must be carried out within the bounds of civility. Within these bounds of civility, what cannot be condoned are actions being taken by a select few that could potentially jeopardise the comfort and safety of all ISI students and teachers.
“The ISI, as we believe, has one mandate and that is to deliver quality education to every single student in the school, and nothing more.”
However, the Muslim Community of Oyo State on Wednesday said there was no going back on the quest to implement the use of hijab by willing Muslim female students in the ISI.
The Muslim Parents’ Forum, which was dissatisfied with the resolutions of the board of governors to halt the wearing of hijab by students of the school at an emergency meeting on Tuesday, vowed to ensure that female Muslim students to wear hijab.
Members of the forum asked the Federal Government and the National Assembly not to waste time by intervening in the crisis before it escalates.
They made their position known at a joint press conference organised by the forum in conjunction with the state Muslim community

Are you struggling with anxiety?

Edit Posted by with No comments

People tend to throw the word ‘anxiety’ around but do we fully appreciate what anxiety is and just how scary it can be?

Anxiety is a feeling of unease, nervousness or fear, many individuals experience from time to time.
It may leave you feeling physically uncomfortable or tense, and when it’s more severe the physical sensations can be very strong such as feeling sick or feeling tightness in your chest.
It can also affect the way we think about things. When we are anxious the world can seem like a frightening place, every situation can feel fraught with danger and your mind can take you to the “worst case scenario” on a regular basis.
With all this going on in your body and your mind, anxiety may start to affect your behaviour.
For example, you might avoid seeing people or going to certain places, you might start working late because you are anxious about completing tasks, or checking your emails late into the evening just in case you miss something.
Sometimes anxiety can become severe and anxiety can take many different forms such as social anxiety, health anxiety, specific phobias, panic attacks, and generalised anxiety to highlight a few, so if you are affected by anxiety don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Here are some tips for helping to cope with anxiety:
Breathe Deeply
When we get anxious, the body’s ‘fight or flight’ response is activated. This response is the body’s way of protecting you in a threatening situation.
It is a series of changes in the body including the release of adrenaline and an increase in heart rate which are designed to make you stronger (fight) or help you to move faster (flight).
These responses are both effective if we are under attack, but not appropriate if you are going to the supermarket.
Breathing deeply can help the body settle down to its natural equilibrium. I think it is helpful to imagine you are blowing up a balloon of your favourite colour.
Take a deep breath in and notice how your stomach rises as you inhale which allows your lungs to take in maximum air, then let out a long, slow, breath out as if you are filling your balloon with air, and do this 3 times.

Question Your Thoughts
Our mind can play tricks on us when we are anxious and our thinking can become distorted. For example, an abrupt email from your boss may lead you to think that you have made a mistake, or a friend failing to return a text may lead you to think that they are not talking to you.
Before you accept the thought, which will undoubtedly fuel your anxiety, ask yourself is this anxious thought “a fact or an opinion?” If it is an opinion, you may be getting anxious for nothing.
Test It
When we get anxious about things, we are often making a negative prediction about what will happen.
For example, I can’t go to that party on my own because no one will talk to me and they will think I’m a loser.
If you make negative predictions, be like a scientist and test it out or how will you ever know if your prediction was right?
Avoid Avoidance
Anxiety is an uncomfortable emotion and many people fall into the trap of avoiding the thing or situation they fear so that they don’t experience the anxiety. For example, some people avoid driving on a motorway because they fear being hit by a lorry.
However, when you avoid situations you are not dealing with the anxiety, so life can become increasingly difficult. Eventually, you may end up in a situation you are trying to avoid additional situations.
Because you haven’t dealt with the fear, the anxiety feels even worse. So face your fear. You will feel anxious but if you repeatedly face it your body adjusts to what you fear and your physical anxiety decreases.
If facing your fear is daunting, try breaking it down into small steps, for example, drive on a motorway for one junction, do this repeatedly until you notice your anxiety reduce, then increase it to 2 junctions etc.
Acceptance
Anxiety, though uncomfortable, is a normal emotion and no matter how much you want to get rid of it, we all feel anxious from time to time.
Accepting anxiety, can be just like accepting that sometimes we feel angry, or sometimes we feel sad and sometimes we feel happy, and just like those other emotions anxiety will pass.
However, if your anxiety is long-term and affecting your day-to-day life you shouldn’t just accept it in order to feel better, you should seek support.

Word best footballer: Ericksen names three best players

Edit Posted by with No comments
Tottenham star, Christian Eriksen, has said that Real Madrid ace, Gareth Bale, follows Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in ranking for world best players.
Ericksen said Messi and Ronaldo are the best players in the world but Bale is ‘very close behind them.’
Ronaldo and Messi are generally recognised as the two greatest players on the planet.
Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the Ballon d’Or for the past 10 years each winning the gong five times.
However, Bale is yet to reach the top three for the prize.
Eriksen said the Welsh forward is among the three best players in the world.
“He’s a top, top player,” Eriksen told reporters ahead of Denmark clash with Wales this weekend.
“Nobody in the world is the same as Messi or Ronaldo, but he’s in a group who are very, very close behind them.
“He has been playing at Real Madrid for a long time now and he has done very well there. Even to ask the question about how he compares to Messi or Ronaldo shows he is up there.
“Bale is someone who can always give them something extra. He does it in any team he plays for.
“He is very quick, very direct, and he is always guaranteed for a few goals. International football is all about getting goals, and he does that.”

Lady narrates how she was sexually harassed and extorted by SARS officers and it's really troubling

Edit Posted by with No comments

A lady has narrated a very troubling encounter she had with SARS officers who harassed her in Port Harcourt.
Olorogun Mabel Peters said she woke up sick and went to get drugs but by the time she got back to her estate, some armed officer approached her and asked for her papers. When they saw that the papers were complete, they asked for her company ID and she explained she doesn't have it on her at the moment.
They immediately accused her of stealing a car and drove her to the station where they then changed their story and claimed that she is one of the criminals they received a call about. They ended up detaining her and seized her phone.
She went on to accuse one of the officers of sexual harassment while she was in their custody. She said they eventually asked her to pay N100,00 and drove her to an ATM to withdraw the money.
She wrote:
@opetodolapo Today is definitely one of my worst days.. I woke up a bit feverish with slight headache so I cancelled my activities for the day, at about 6:30pm I decided to go get drugs, because my condition seemed to be getting serious and also get pizza for my mum just 7mins drive away from my estate..
On getting back to my estate, a blue Prado jeep stopped right in front of me and some armed men on uniform came out asking me to park for a search, I obliged, they went through all the vehicle papers and drivers license etc very much complete..
The next question I was asked was they needed to see my company Id ,I tried to explain to them I didn't have it on me because I just drove out to get pizza from the next bus stop and they said I was under arrest for stealing a vehicle and I couldn't give them an ID of where I work, I obliged and we drove to their station and the whole story changed..
One of the officers made a phone call and he said I was among the criminals they received a call about.. I tried to beg, I even showed proof of the medications I got, they gave me a paper to make a statement,in the process they took my phones from me and started going through my phone, from my chats call logs down to my bank mails etc....
After spending 2hrs with them they demanded for a sum of 2million naira as my bail, for a crime I do not know.. This is pure wickedness and evil... I never stole, robbed, violated any rules etc... We finally came to an agreement after keeping me hostage from 6pm till 12am that I should pay them 100,000naira..
One of the officers even approached me trying to sexually harass me!! This same men didn't even mind the time they comfortably drove me to an ATM machine so I could make a withdrawal for them... These men are criminals!!
I was granted bail by 1:30am after spending 7good hours... Someone's hard earn money This Is totally unacceptable, Are you guys not meant to be protecting lives ? Why will you extort someone of their hard earn sweat!! I thought SARS had ended... (officers names are : officer Matt, Emma, security, Friday)

Man Who Tried To Kill Himself Receives Face Implant In A 25-hour Surgery.

Edit Posted by with No comments
A 26-year-old man has undergone a face transplant two years after narrowly surviving an attempted suicide against the odds, a new report reveals.

Cameron Underwood, who battled depression for years, was 24 when he tried to take his own life with a shotgun in June 2016 after drinking all day.
The welder from Yuba City in Northern California was left with barely anything except for his forehead, eyes and tongue, and his parents were told he wouldn’t make it.
Doctors managed to bring him back – and soon after, Cam’s mother Bev Bailey-Potter contacted NYU Langone Medical Center’s new face transplant unit.
Today, two years on, Cam has shared his astonishing progress in an interview and photos with People magazine and ABC News, thanking doctors for giving him a second chance at life.
He also expresses his gratitude to the family of his donor, 23-year-old Will Fisher, described by People as ‘a budding New York City writer and filmmaker’. He became a donor after his ‘sudden’ death following a battle with mental illness on January 5, 2018.
Cam flew directly to New York from California and that night he underwent the 25-hour surgery that changed his life.
‘I remember just a sigh of relief that I had a face again, I had a mouth and teeth again, I had a nose again—just such amazement and joy,’ Cam told People.
‘I couldn’t be more thankful for all the hard work and the sacrifices that were made for me.’
He added: ‘The biggest difference is just being able to go out without a mask and without people staring at me.’
